The rains which had brought rest to Mumbai have started gaining momentum once again. Today evening, Mumbai (Mumbai Rain) is bringing strong rains in the suburbs. In which, many areas have started getting flooded with water. Similarly, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai. But in other districts, very torrential rain is expected.
Many parts of Mumbai are witnessed light showers since morning. However, Thane, Bhiwandi and Dombivali have got off to a strong start. Water logging has been witnessed in many low lying areas causing serious inconvenience to citizens at large. Accordingly, Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai, during which there is a possibility of moderate rain ranging from 5 to 15 mm.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) Deputy Director General K S Hosalikar said that more than 150 mm rainfall was recorded in the western suburbs in the past 24 hours until 9.45 pm on Thursday. Light showers expected to be in the city however, Thane city and district continues to experience heavy rains.
